AZV at the Star Biathlon !
The Ammertal Zipflbob Club was in great demand at the Star Biathlon in Garmisch Partenkirchen on the first weekend in February.
On the Gudiberg, various celebrities (including Lars Riedel, Patrick Bach, Joachim Liambi, Ulla Kock am Brink etc.) ventured down the slope in bobsleighs. The fastest athlete was determined by timekeeping. That was the idea.
Now, of course, ARD also needed someone to let the ladies and gentlemen in on the secrets of the Zipflbob. “And that’s where we came in, of course,” says Stefan Vogt, Chairman of the AZV. The AZV provided a team of trainers (including Stefan Keerl and Michael Fux from Oberammergau) to train with the celebrities on two afternoons before the competition.
“We got the most out of the VIPs in the short time available, but we couldn’t do magic either, as you could see on TV,” said Michael Fux in the debriefing. Those responsible at ARD were nevertheless very satisfied with the result and gave the signal to plan a four-part Zipflbob next year, which will definitely be even more exciting for the audience.
