Tradition, speed & thrills on Epiphany
The 2026 horn sled race will take place on 06.01. from 12:00!
The legendary horn sledge race is one of the winter highlights in the region every year – and spectators and teams can once again look forward to a spectacular event in 2026. Rapid descents, historic sledges and a genuine tradition of craftsmanship and sport make this race a unique experience for participants and fans alike.
So that everyone can start safely and well prepared, the most important information, deadlines and rules for the 2026 horn sled race are clearly summarized here.
Helmet compulsory for all participants
Safety comes first:
Helmets are compulsory for all riders – without exception. Teams should therefore ensure in good time that all their equipment is complete and ready for the start.
Entry deadline & registration
Registration for the horn sled race is only possible up to a clear deadline:
- Entry deadline: January 04, 2026, 4:00 p.m.
- Important: No late registrations are possible!
Anyone wishing to take part should therefore register early.

Starting number draw
The draw for the starting numbers will take place on:
- Sunday, January 04, 2026 at 7:00 pm
- Place: Horn sledge hut

There is no parking directly at the hut!
Please park at the ski stadium and plan the short walk of approx. 10 minutes to the hut.
Start number distribution & sled acceptance
Things get serious on the morning of the race: start numbers are allocated and the sleds are checked.
- Date: January 06, 2026
- Time: 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. (no later distribution possible!)
- Location: Olympic ski stadium, center entrance
The entry fee of €50 per team is also paid at the time of collection.
This includes:
- small surprise gifts
- free admission to the Hornschlittenball

The start number must be worn by the handlebars of the sled and may not be exchanged.
