Horn sled races
51st Bavarian Championship
on January 06, 2020 in Garmisch Partenkirchen
Once again this year, the Garmisch-Partenkirchen horn sledge race will take place at the Olympic ski stadium on Epiphany. This competition was founded in 1970. Back then, the race was still run at night and by torchlight. That has changed, but the fast-paced route has remained.

From the Partnachklamm gorge, it covers around a thousand meters to the finish. The descent is 160 meters in altitude. That makes for speed! The record is one minute and 25 seconds.

The Zipflbob race for children aged 5 to 13, which takes place during the break at around 1:30 pm, has become an integral part of the traditional event. Children can borrow bobsleighs on site.
