On April 11, 2009, the time had come – the existing Zipflbob speed world record, which had previously been set with the original mini bob, was broken by Frederik Eiter from Pitztal on a “Zipflracer”. With a speed of an incredible 157.34 km/h (previously 139 km/h on the original mini bob), the man from Pitztal has now entered his Zipflracer in the Guinness Book of Records.
On October 15, 2009, none other than Olympic champion Wolfgang Linger presented the official Guinness World Records certificate to Zipflracer Frederik Eiter.
The world record attempt was held as part of an event organized by the manufacturer Zipflracer in accordance with the official regulations of the Guinness Book of Records. The Zipflbobs, which had to be uniformly used by the “Zipflracer” company, were not allowed to be structurally modified or optimized.
As the manufacturer and inventor of the original Zipflbob (mini bob), the mini bob team congratulates the manufacturer Zipflracer, which designed its product on the basis of the original mini bob, on the successful world record!
We look forward to further record attempts and wish all Zipflbobbers lots of success and fun.
