Zipfelbobrennen Walchsee 2012
Great fun with the world champions!
3,2,1, Zipfl go! On February 17th it was time again – the 3rd edition of the legendary Zipflbob race of Der feine Klingen took place in Walchsee/Durchholzen.
150 daring participants between the ages of 4 and 63 did not want to miss out on this floodlit spectacle.
In 4 heats, the fastest 2 Zipfelbobbers in each of 4 categories (kids, teens, ladies, men) qualified for the next round. Victory in the adult male category was secured on the spectacular but safe course by Zipflbob world champion Paul Steinbach from Kirchberg. World champion Liesi Eckstein from Gaißach in the Tegernsee valley also took the overall victory in the women’s category.
Fabian Schwaighofer from Walchsee won the kids’ ranking and the teens’ ranking went to Florian Praschberger, who showed no weakness on his local mountain in Durchholzen.
In addition to the competition for places, the focus was on having fun. The Best Dress award for the best costume went to the Smurfs, closely followed by the Blunt Butter Knives. Of course, there was plenty on offer for the numerous spectators.
DJ Gaspedal and the Walchsee sound team got the crowd pumped up. The evening was brought to a fitting close with a great after-show party on site. Team Vanquisher is already looking forward to next year when it’s 3,2,1 Zipfl go again on Carnival Friday!
